Garda Cordon for Saturday

The gardaí have advised that due to the expected attendance of 41,150, a full event day garda cordon will be in place with road closures in operation on Jones Road, Russell Street, Foster Terrace, Whitworth Terrace, Fitzroy Avenue, Sackville Avenue, St. James' Avenue, St. Joseph's Avenue, St. Margaret's Avenue and Clonliffe Road.

Initial traffic restrictions will be implemented from approx. 11.30am on Saturday morning with a soft cordon where persons will be asked by the Gardaí where they are travelling to. This is primarily aimed at preventing match-goers who arrive early from parking in the community area. From approx. 1.30pm, full road closures are expected to be in place.

Local residents who may need special assistance for themselves, visitors or deliveries gaining access through the Garda cordon on Saturday afternoon are advised to get in touch with Julianne in Croke Park 

Match Day Timings for Saturday

Please note the match throw-in time: 5pm.  Gardaí may have to restrict vehicular movement inside the cordon in advance of the match (from approx. 3.45pm-4.45pm), and at the final whistle (from approx. 6.35pm-7.35pm), due to the volume of pedestrian traffic that will be in the area at these times.

An Air Corps flypast is expected to take place on Sunday just before 4.15pm

2021 Event Day Garda Passes

For the 2021 season, the Gardaí have advised that the 2019 and 2020 residents vehicular passes are still valid.  Households inside the Garda event day cordon who do not have car passes can collect them from Mountjoy Garda Station.  Please bring proof of identity and proof of residency with you to the station for passes to be issued.
