Heritage Week at the GAA Museum

As part of Heritage Week 2019’s celebration of 'Pastimes: Past Times', the GAA Museum has added two special events to its summer schedule. These events are free, but pre-booking is essential as places are limited.
Wednesday 21st August
Children’s Tour of Croke Park with Warriors and Hurlers Workshop
10.30am - 12.30pm FULLY BOOKED
11.30am – 1.30pm FULLY BOOKED
This behind the scenes tour of Croke Park, will give young GAA fans a chance to follow in the footsteps of their sporting heroes, whilst also learning about Ireland’s greatest hurler, legend and warrior - Cú Chulainn, in a special ‘Warriors and Hurlers’ workshop. Includes access to the GAA Museum.
Recommended for 7- 10 year olds.

Thursday 22nd August
The Ancient Art of Hurley Making
4.30pm – 5.30pm FULLY BOOKED
In 2018, the ancient sport of hurling gained UNESCO status for intangible cultural heritage of humanity. This insightful talk and demonstration at the GAA Museum, will delve into the masterful craft of hurley making and will chart the transformation from ash to clash.
