The Event of the Future (EOTF) was a conference to connect meetings and events professionals with the latest insights, ideas and inspirations from best-in-class global practice in live meetings and events. The event explored the idea of the Event of the Future bringing together a wide circle of event professionals to share powerful insights and connect with their audience around topics like technology, agency, association, culture, hotels, catering, venue, corporate, AV and sustainability.
The design concept for the conference was a festival feel with short, impactful content, massive visual appeal, dynamism and innovation, informal food and interactivity. The event was developed and run by Croke Park Meetings & Events in collaboration with a range of suppliers and partners including Aramark, AVCOM and SoolNua and was awarded BEST CONFERENCE at the Event Industry Awards 2018.

Technology - Sli.do, the cloud-based audience engagement platform, was used during the live event to ensure attendees were involved and engaged throughout. AVCOM installed a seamless video wall - 4 x 60 inches TVs - the biggest ever used at Croke Park. They created customised graphics for the opening reveal of each speaker adding a sense of anticipation and brought broadcast quality production values to the event.

Catering – Aramark designed a ‘menu of the future’ including nutritious innovative elements such as crickets, wheatgrass and apple ice-pops, test tube juices and berry bites. A new ‘Stadium Street Food’ menu was showcased on the outdoor concourse with a festival-style food experience featuring live chef stations and tabletop barbeques.

Entertainment – Features included Robot Ted (Audio Networks) and Matrix Fire Jugglers (SEA) who greeting guests on arrival and at the Stadium Street Party along with LED Light Performers (Audio Networks) and tunes provided by a DJ, Sax Player & Percussionist (SEA). Social engagement activities included an event selfie mirror and instagram photo booth.

Other Event Innovations – Live kitchen video link with chef Ruairí introducing the menu of the future options before each catering break; Back stage tour of U2’s concert set-up in advance of the Joshua Tree Tour taking place that weekend; Showcase of Stadium Street Food Festival set up; Live stream of event on Facebook Live.
