When exactly does a new recruit stop being ‘new’? Fiona Cronin has only been at Croke Park for a few short months but already she's part of this place.
A true meetings and events professional, Fiona studied Event Management at DIT and has worked across the industry spectrum for International hotel groups such as Radisson and Hilton to global agency CWT Meetings & Events.
Her studies grounded her in the events industry and honed her project management skills equipping her to handle all event types from small meetings right up to high-end international incentive travel events. When asked about her personal attributes, Fiona talks, unsurprisingly, about the ability to handle pressure - and she is unflappable!

Event management at Ibec’s KeepWell Summit
Events are fluid and complex with many moving parts so to keep everything moving in the right direction you need patience, the ability to multi-task, granular attention to detail and great communications skills. Fiona has these in spades. Below she she takes us through the event spaces used for the recent Ibec KeepWell Summit
held in Croke Park’s flagship space, the Hogan Suite & Foyer
Working with clients from concept to conclusion
“What I love about events in Croke Park is that our team works with clients on their event from concept to conclusion. We go on a journey with them to design their perfect event from start to finish. It’s hugely satisfying and a privilege to get to know everyone all along the way” says Fiona.
One of those people is Claire O’Connell from Ibec who recently worked with the team on their workplace wellness event. A key component of the event was the food experiences around their keepwell refreshment and networking breaks. “Our team had to come up with totally new, truly healthy menu options”, said Fiona, “and rose to the challenge”. All part of a typical day in the life of an events manager!
