Virtual: the New Reality for Meetings and Events
In July 2017, precisely 3 years ago, over 300 meetings and events professionals spent an exciting day at Croke Park considering what the event of the future might look like.
We talked about the changing patterns in how venues are chosen, we looked at new trends in the preparation and presentation of food, we thought about sustainability and its growing role for meetings and events planners.
We also talked a lot about technology and got a chance to test-drive and experience first-hand its impact on event design and, in particular, on its ability to extend the life of the event beyond the confines of the physical space in which it was taking place.
We mentioned artificial intelligence (AI), augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR). Little did we know that 3 years later virtual would be the new reality for meetings & events.
Since the arrival of Covid-19, we’ve been busily preparing for this new reality and have just launched our very own Virtual Studio with AVCOM, our in-house audio-visual partners. We recently gathered a small international panel of #eventsprofs with Event of the Future MC, Pádraic Gilligan, in the hotseat. Here’s a taste of what you can expect when you work with us on your next virtual event:
Later in this summer we’ll showcase what a hybrid meeting looks like, ie, one combining a live AND an on-line audience. Be sure to mark your calendar for Thursday, 10 September for the “hybrid” launch of our e-booklet on Sustainability.
We are now looking forward to getting back and working with you on your future events. Contact us on [email protected].
