Croke Park’s Sensory Room (Cú Chulainn’s Corner) is intended to create a safe and secure environment for spectators with sensory processing needs or who may need time away from the hustle and bustle of match days.
Croke Park Match Day Visual Guide
Location
Croke Park’s Sensory Room (Cú Chulainn’s Corner) is located on the first floor of the GAA Museum. The GAA Museum is in the Inner Cusack Concourse on Ground level. The sensory room does not have a view at the pitch.
Please note on match days where the Cusack Stand is not open, please contact the stadium directly for alternative arrangements.
Who is it for?
Croke Park’s Sensory Room (Cú Chulainn’s Corner) is designed for spectators with sensory processing needs and / or spectators who need an area to decompress. The room is designed for adults and children and is wheelchair accessible.
Availability & Booking
The sensory room is available from when stiles open until the final whistle of the last game. It cannot be pre booked and is operated on a first come first serve basis.
Access
To access the room, spectators should go to either of the Customer Care booths. They are located on the Inner Cusack Concourse opposite the Museum and the Hogan Level 3 concourse. From here a member of our Customer Care team will bring you to the Museum.
Children must be accompanied by a parent / guardian at all times. There are no exceptions to this rule.
Attendees must sign a waiver to use the sensory room.
Capacity
The sensory room is designed to accommodate up to 6 persons.
Sensory Room Team
On match days, our specially trained Sensory Room team members will be on duty to assist patrons and to manage the room, ensuring it is clean, tidy, fit for purpose and time slots are adhered to.
Spectator Role
Sensory room attendees are expected to adhere to the following guidelines for use of the sensory room.
- Follow the instructions of the sensory room team at all times. Rules of the sensory room are visible on the board outside the room.
- Parents / Carers / assistants are fully responsible for their child/ family member / patient while availing of the sensory room facilities.
- Parents / Carers / assistants are fully responsible for the administration of any medication or medical assistance required.
- Parents / Carers / assistants are fully responsible for all toilet runs.
- The Sensory Room is fragrance-free to protect users with serious allergies and those who may be challenged by smells. All participants must use the fragrance-free hand sanitizer provided before entering the room.
- Shoes or bare feet are not permitted in the room for sanitary reasons and to protect the equipment. Service users should bring their own clean foot coverings (e.g., socks).
- Parents / Carers / assistants should not allow children to mouth or chew any of the equipment.
- Parents / Carers / assistants should inform sensory room staff of any relevant information that may be necessary during their visit to the room.
Medical Matters
Parents / Carers / assistants are to provide and fulfil any medical requirements throughout their visit to the stadium.
Food & Beverage
Food and beverages are not permitted in the sensory room. Water is permitted if required.
