Croke Park Stadium are delighted to introduce an Audio Descriptive Commentary service for spectators who are blind or vision impaired.

Audio Descriptive Commentary (ADC) is a specialised form of commentary, specific for blind and vison impaired fans to provide them with a fully immersive game experience.

We are delighted to partner with Vision Sport Ireland who will be our training provider for this service. The service provides additional narration that enhances the live sports experience by conveying key visual elements such as player movements, attributes, actions, and game dynamics, allowing attendees to fully engage with the game.

The service will be introduced on a trial basis from May for the 2025 GAA Championship with a view to rolling out full service from 2026 onwards.

Cost

There is no cost to spectators for this service.
 

Service Location

Currently the service is available in all seated areas of the stadium. It is highly recommended to purchase a ticket in the Lower Cusack for ease of collection and return of the headsets.

 

Who is it for?

The ADC service is for spectators who are blind or have a vision impairment. It is not a general commentary service.
 

How to book an ADC Headset

All headsets must be booked in advance. The following booking procedure applies to ADC headsets on match days.

• All headsets must be booked in advance via the following link: Click Here
• To book a headset, spectators must include their ticket details for the game on the form. It is recommended for ease of collection and drop off, that spectator’s book Lower Cusack tickets where possible.
• The booking form will open the Monday prior to the game and close on Wednesday prior to the game at 5pm sharp. Bookings cannot be accepted after this time.
• On Friday before the game the spectator will receive an email confirming their booking and information sheet on where to collect their headset.

Other Information

• Headsets must be returned on your departure from the stadium. Failure to return the headsets limit the amount available for the next match day.
• The commentators are volunteers and have completed a Vision Sport Ireland training course in ADC commentary.
