The collection consists of correspondence sent by Father Edward (Ted) Teehan, Australia to Philip Fanning, Ireland between 1925 and 1938 in which Teehan discusses the situation of the Irish emigrants in Australia, including the G.A.A.

Topics include the activities of the G.A.A. in Australia; Irish emigrants in Australia and contemporary Australian events including the 1928 Eucharistic Congress in Sydney and the 1930’s economic depression. A photograph album containing ninety-nine photographs is also included in the collection. Photographs in this album include photographs of Irish Emigrants in Australia including the Irish National Association, Cumann na mBan, Sydney, The Gaelic League, Sydney and the 1922 New South Wales Hurling Team. There are also photographs of Ireland, taken after Fanning returned to Ireland in 1923. The collection also contains a colour poster advertising the 1922 hurling contests between New South Wales and Victoria, in the Sydney Sports Ground on the 4th of October and 7th of October 1922.
