Croke Park in the Classroom of Over 200 Primary Schools

For schools the length and breadth of the country, the ever-popular school tour to Croke Park could not take place this year because of Covid-19 restrictions.  In its place, the GAA Museum put together a fantastic free virtual school tour package and today, 200 primary schools will have participated in the programme!

As the school terms comes to an end, the GAA Museum would like to thank all the teachers and pupils who took part and came up with such imaginative questions for our tour guides.

A special well done to Fourth Class in St Colman’s BNS in Kanturk, Co. Cork for winning the Croke Park Stories competition. The GAA Museum team were thrilled with the quality of the writing and look forward to will welcoming the class to Croke Park next year as part of their prize. Check out the winning stories!

The demand for the virtual tours was overwhelming and schools that could not avail of a live virtual session can still access the free resources here.

Finally, a big GRMA to our GAA Museum tour guides Cian Nolan, Aran O’Reilly and Aaron Douglas for bringing the magic of Croke Park into so many classrooms and to team member Eoin O’Connor for keeping the technology gremlins at bay!
