A ball and stickfield game with two teams of 15 players on a grass pitch with H-shaped posts. The stick (hurley) is curved outwards at the end to provide the striking surface. The ball (sliotar) is similar in size to a hockey ball but has raisedridges. Players can strike the ball onthe ground or in the air. Camogie is the modified version of hurling played by women.
