WARM UP SHOW TO ENTERTAIN FANS FOR ALL-IRELAND FINAL BUILD-UP
‘The Warm Up’ will take place in the stadium from 2pm and will provide entertainment and analysis for those who come to Croke Park early and also those around the world who want to connect and follow the exciting countdown to one of the biggest days Ion the Irish sporting calendar.
Hosted by Aisling O’Reilly and involving Cork dual star Eoin Cadogan, Tipperary All-Star John ‘Bubbles’ O’Dwyer and Kilkenny legend Walter Walsh who made his senior championship debut in an All-Ireland final, scoring 1-3 in the 2012 replay victory over Galway. GAA President Jarlath Burns and GAA Head of Hurling William Maher will complete the line-up.
The pre-match will preview the game and the defining battles and celebrate past meetings of Tipperary and Cork from this year’s Munster campaign and iconic battles of yesteryear.
The show will also celebrate the 2000 All-Ireland winning Kilkenny hurlers who are this year’s jubilee team. There will be musical entertainment on the Cusack Stand concourse who will perform before the game above the GAA Museum entrance.
As part of the fan engagement, there will be a jersey-canon firing free jerseys into the crowd as well as other competitions for the lucky holders of match tickets in the 82,000 strong crowd.
Pyrotechnics, drummers and pitch pageantry will complete the big match build-up and the jubilee captain Willie O’Connor will have the honour of bringing the coveted Liam MacCarthy Cup pitch side ahead of the battle to be crowned the 137th All-Ireland senior hurling champions, and a first ever final meeting of the Rebels versus the Premier in a senior All-Ireland decider.
