National Heritage Week at the GAA Museum

The GAA Museum have planned a number of free events to celebrate National Heritage Week 2016.

National Heritage Week is an annual celebration of Ireland’s built, natural and cultural heritage and is happening from 20 – 28 August.

The GAA Museum will mark National Heritage Week with special tours focusing on Croke Park Stadium, our national game of hurling and the GAA's contribution to, and shaping of, the popular narrative of our culture. Full details of the tours and links to booking can be found below.

'All About Hurling' Croke Park Stadium Tour - Tuesday 23rd & Thursday 25th August

All About Hurling - enjoy a FREE guided access-all-areas stadium tour of Croke Park and learn all about our national game of hurling - the fastest field game on the planet.

Walk in the footsteps of hurling legends as you take an access-all-areas trip through the home of Irish sport - visit the dressing rooms, walk pitch-side via the players tunnel and take a seat in the VIP area with views of the famous pitch.

Admission includes a visit to the GAA Museum where you can check out the exhibits and test your own hurling skills in our interactive games zone!

The tours will begin at 12pm at the GAA Museum on both days. This is a FREE event but places are limited.

Museums and Cultural Landscapes - Wednesday 24th August

To mark Heritage Week the GAA Museum will host a special one hour tour that will discuss the GAA’s contribution to, and shaping of, the popular narrative of our culture.

The tour will begin at 12pm at the GAA Museum. This is a FREE event but places are limited.
