Junior Explorers Tours return to the GAA Museum this August
Attention all budding young GAA fans and families!
Are you gearing up for the pinnacle of the 2019 GAA Football and Hurling All-Ireland Championships? Did your darling son or daughter grow a grá for Gaelic games at their local Kellogg’s GAA Cul Camp since school wrapped up? Or perhaps you’re looking for an excursion with your little ones this summer?
Then you’ll be delighted to hear that the Junior Explorer Tours return to Croke Park on Tuesday and Thursday mornings throughout the month of August.
These family friendly tours bring the magic of the home of Gaelic games to life for younger visitors and offer a fun, interactive and educational morning out for all the family.
The GAA Museum’s mascot, Cluasóg the Irish hare, will greet you and your little ones on arrival at the museum for this special Summer series of Junior Explorer Tours.
Next you’ll get to go behind-the-scenes to learn fun facts about the GAA and Croke Park. During the Stadium Tour, your intrepid explorers will also get to visit the team dressing rooms and warm-up area and run out pitch-side through the players’ tunnel, just like the players in the Championship!
Back at the GAA Museum, children will then receive a Junior Explorer Passport so they can follow clues throughout the Museum with their tour guide. They’ll discover some of the museum’s most famous exhibits including the original Sam Maguire and Liam MacCarthy cups along the way. If the group find all the clues, all younger visitors will receive a special Junior Explorer surprise!
Another highlight for many boys and girls (and mums and dads!) is the museum’s Interactive Games Zone, where the future All-Stars can test their own hurling, camogie and football skills.
The Junior Explorer Tours are recommended for all family members but will be of particular interest for children of 8 years of age and under. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
Junior Explorer Tours will depart from the GAA Museum at 10.30am on Tuesdays and Thursdays throughout August and will last approximately 1.5 hours (including time in the Museum and a meet and greet with Cluasóg). The route is fully accessible for buggies. Free parking is available, as well as the Museum’s Blackthorn Café for a snack afterwards. Advance online booking is recommended on
