Free Community Compost 2026

Spring has most certainly sprung here in the stadium and for our local gardeners, Croke Park’s annual community compost scheme will take place this Easter weekend, on Saturday 4th and Sunday, 5th April 2026 from 9am-6pm each day.
 
This stadium initiative is organised in conjunction with Thornton’s Recycling and is open to all those living within the stadium's 1.5km community area to avail of free compost.  The compost derives from compostable waste collected from the stadium and treated at the Thornton’s Recycling composting facility in Co. Meath.  Over 20 tonnes of compost will be on offer this year .
 
This is a very popular community initiative and due to demand, compost collections take place on a first come, first served basis and are restricted to one bag/container per household. Please bring your own bag or container with you.
 
Where: Cusack Carpark, Enter via St. Joseph's Avenue (turn at the Daybreak Store)

When: Saturday April 4th & Sunday April 5th 2026:   9am to 6pm each day.
