Croke Park Meetings & Events scoops global award

At IMEX, the specialist meetings and events exhibition in Frankfurt, Croke Park Meetings & Events joined an elite group of world-class conference venues on the honours list for the 2016 Digital Infrastructure Award.

Staged by INCON, the global partnership of leading Professional Conference Organizers, the Digital Infrastructure Award, now in its 3rd year, recognizes venues that work innovatively to enable best-in-class connected meetings by investment in digital infrastructure.
“The Digital Infrastructure Award was developed by INCON to celebrate and inspire change in the digital infrastructure and services made available in meeting venues around the world. The award rests on a simple principle that meetings are better when a first class digital infrastructure is made available along with applications and tools that enhance the delegate productivity and experience. We congratulate Croke Park Meetings & Events for an extremely impressive submission, the only Ireland or UK entry to be shortlisted” said Roslyn Mc Leod, co-chair of INCON.

Daniel Branik, Arinex Chief Information Officer who sits on the Award Judging panel remarked "Greater international competition, higher client demands and continual strong technology growth are seeing many convention centres significantly investing in their digital infrastructure to provide delegates with a better meetings experience.  Furthermore, it is positive to see non-convention centers, like Croke Park Meetings & Events, putting forward a great submission and investing into their digital infrastructure".

“Last year we completed the first phase of an ambitious programme to re-imagine Croke Park as a world-class venue for meetings and events. This involved a significant infrastructural investment, including a radical upgrade in WiFi technology and digital signage. We are immensely proud that our efforts have been recognized by INCON, the leading global community of professional conference organizers” said Sinéad Heneghan, Head of Sales, Croke Park Meetings & Events.

The 2016 overall winner of the Digital Infrastructure Award was Austria Center Vienna. The judges also distinguished Marina Bay Sands, Singapore and the Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre, Western Australia as joint runners up with Croke Park Meetings & Events from Ireland for an honorable mention. The 2015 award went to Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre.
