Conservation of Louth GAA Minutes

The GAA Museum was delighted to complete a project to conserve Louth GAA Minute books from the early 1900’s.

The aim of the project was to improve their condition and house them individually in archival standard folders.

One book is a hard back copybook, with a leather spine and corners with cloth sides. The other is a hardback copybook, with cloth spine and marble paper which is particularly attractive.

This project will ensure that these books will be accessible to the research community over years, and beyond. Their contents not only show the administrative history of the GAA for this period, at a county level.

The conservation work is now complete – it was undertaken by skilled conservator Sarah McCartan.
