Community Cúl Camp 2020
Special Community Update
In Croke Park we have always prided ourselves in organising one of the biggest & best cúl camps in the country, which we specially subsidise for 250 of our young neighbours every year.
Reluctantly, after several weeks of planning, we have decided not to run a community camp this year. Central to our decision is the fact that the safeguards we need to put in place in relation to social distancing and hygiene during the camp would greatly restrict the number of young neighbours we could welcome this year.
We know a community camp that could welcome only a small fraction of our usual participants would cause widespread disappointment among the many local children who take part every year. We want to be fair to all our young neighbours who in any previous year, would be looking forward to an action-packed week at our community cúl camp at this time.
So instead, we are offering all local families with primary-school aged children the opportunity to enter two very exciting community draws in the coming weeks:
- The first will be a local community draw where local parents can enter for the chance to win 1 of 250 free sets of this year’s Cúl Camp gear for their children.
Details on both draws and how local families can register online will be published on the community section of the Croke Park website by Friday, 10 July
- The second will be a local community draw to join us for a very special family day in Croke Park on Saturday, September 5th. Through this open day, we will be able to welcome hundreds of local children & their parents into the stadium for a great day out.
. Circumstances permitting, we look forward to organising our 2021 camp next Spring.
New GAA Cúl Camp TV programme on TG4 starts today
Today also is the launch of the new GAA Cúl Camp TV on TG4. This will be broadcast Monday to Friday from 10.25 to 11.00am and repeated at 5.15pm from June 29th to July 17th. It will also be available on the TG4 player making the return to camp activity, both live and on demand.
