Coldplay at Croke Park voted Most Popular Live Event in the past 20 years
Coldplay’s sold-out show at Croke Park on July 8th 2017 was voted the most popular live event in Ireland in the past 20 years, in a fan vote to celebrate Ticketmaster's 20th anniversary in Ireland.
The Croke Park stopover on the tour – which saw the band play 114 shows in 76 cities and 31 countries – was also Ireland’s
Ticket of the Year, according to a poll carried out by Ticketmaster.
The “A Headful of Dreams” tour concert at Croke Park came out on top beating off stiff competition from Electric Picnic in Stradbally and Guns N’ Roses at Slane Castle, which took second and third spots respectively.
This is not Croke Park's first time to host a Ticket of the Year winner, having also hosted previous winners Bruce Springsteen (2016) and Ed Sheeran (2015).
It seems that Croke Park hopes to keep the trend going having recently announced two new highly anticipated concerts for 2018, with Taylor Swift playing on June 15th and Michael Bublé playing on July 7th.
