All About Camogie Tour

As we build up to All-Ireland Camogie final Sunday, the GAA Museum is marking this huge milestone in the history of Irish women’s sport with our All About Camogie tour.

You’ll enjoy a behind-the-scenes tour of Croke Park where you’ll learn about the stadium preparations for the Camogie All-Ireland finals. You’ll also visit the team dressing rooms and warm-up areas before walking pitchside to see close-up where the games will be played.

On the tour, you’ll learn a little about the origins and growth of camogie and also have a chance to view some of the interesting camogie pieces from the GAA Museum’s vast collection. Some of our most interesting pieces on display include Dublin star Kay Mills’ incredible medal collection, the original O’Duffy Cup and 2023 Camogie Player of the Year Beth Carton’s jersey.

The tour will finish with a viewing of our new Foundations to Future exhibition which explores the creation and development of Gaelic Games as Camogie turns 120, Gaelic Football and Rounders turn 140, Handball celebrates 100 years and the LGFA mark 50. Amongst the items on display is the medal collection of camogie legend Ann Downey. The collection includes 12 All-Ireland inter-county medals with Kilkenny.

The tour will depart from the GAA Museum at 11:30am. Tickets are limited and must be booked online in advance. Each person on the tour will receive a hurley keyring to remember the occasion.

In addition the O’Duffy Cup will be on display in the GAA Museum during opening hours from Wednesday August 7th to Saturday August 10th and visitors will have a unique opportunity to take photos beside it.
