'Get on board' with Croke Park's Sustainability Day!

This Sunday, 29th July, Croke Park celebrates its annual ‘Sustainability Day’.

Throughout the day, GAA supporters in Croke Park will be able to find out more about the environmental & community issues that are important to the stadium.  There will also be special activities and competitions to thank visitors to the stadium for their support in helping the stadium reach the highlest levels of sustainability excellence.

Will you win the 'Golden Ticket'?

This year, Croke Park wants to especially thank and reward supporters who choise public transport when travelling to the stadium for event days. So if you're travelling up from Limerick or Cork this Sunday by bus or train on Sunday, this competition is for you!

The first 50 supporters who present their public transport ticket from either Limerick or Cork at the information booths on the Cusack and Hogan Stand sides of the stadium will receive a complimentary match day programme.

However, the rewards don't end there; inside one of these 100 complimentary matchday programmes will be a 'golden ticket'...

The lucky supporter who gets the programme that has the 'golden ticket' inside will win a two night stay in the Croke Park Hotel, inclusive of Bed, Breakfast and one evening meal, for two people as well as a private tour of the stadium on the Ericcson Skyline during their stay!

Where are the information booths located?

The blue information booths are located on the inner concourses of Level 3 on the Hogan side of the stadium and the inner Cusack concourse on the Cusack side.

Rewarding Our Waste Watchers

If you're not lucky enough to win the golden ticket, there'll be spot prizes throughout the day from Croke Park's "Sustainability Team"!

They'll be watching throughout the stadium and rewarding supporters who put their matchday waste in the right bin and help the stadium maintain it's 0% to landfill record.

Did you know that since 2014, GAA supporters have helped the stadium divert nearly 2,000 tonnes of waste away from landfill simply by putting their matchday waste in the right bin?

This 'Sustainability Day', to celebrate the fact tht Croke Park's tea and coffee cups are now fully compostable, and can be put in the stadium's brown bins, hundreds of tokens for complimentary teas and coffees will be given out to supporters that correctly use the right bins during the afternoon!

'On yer bike!' for the Sustainability Day Challenge!

There''ll also be a fun half-time pitch-side entertainment where supporters from Cork & Limerick will battle it out for the glory & honour of winning the stadium's Sustainability Day challenge for their respective county!

Being a sustainable stadium takes hard work, dedication and passion - traits seen day in, day out in GAA clubs throughout the world.  If you'd like to find out more about sustainability in Croke Park, please get in touch with Míde Ní Shuilleabhain by email or phone 01 813 2300
