Matchday FAQ's 2022

• If you are unsure you should contact your GP for advice.
• Spectators are advised to follow the guidelines from the HSE in relation to persons who are at high risk of contracting Covid-19. For more information click here.
• It is the personal responsibility of spectators to risk assess their suitability to attend games in Croke Park.
• Spectators must be aware that all risks posed from Covid-19 cannot be eliminated; this includes attending GAA games. 

Proof of Covid-19 vaccination is not a requirement of entry to Croke Park. However, it is recommended to follow allow public health guidelines and self-assess your circumstances prior to your return to the stadium. You should take into consideration, If you (or a member of your household), are in the very high risk or high risk category. For more information please click here.

PCR / Antigen testing will not be a condition of entry to Croke Park. Spectators should exercise personal responsibility and if they are feeling any symptoms of Covid-19, are a close contact of a confirmed Covid-19 case and have been asked to self-isolate or have had had Covid-19 within 14 days of the game should not attend Croke Park. If you have receive a test and have tested negative you must still comply with all the terms and conditions in the Croke Park Code of Conduct. If you have recevied a test and have tested postive you must remain at home, self-isolate and contact your GP immediately.

E-tickets, print at home and physical tickets will be in operation. Where possible spectators should use e-tickets to avoid unnecessary contact.  
 

Tickets will only be available for purchase on the day of the game via the Ticketmaster website. All tickets will be issued in advance. Ticket offices around the stadium will be closed. Ticket vans will not be in operation.  

 

No rebates or concessions will be available.

You must contact the GAA Ticket office to arrange a refund, email [email protected]. Requests for refunds must be done in advance. Refunds will not be facilitated on the day or after the game. Tickets are not transferrable.

Spectators must plan their journey to and from the stadium in advance. There are a number of ways to travel to and from the stadium, including walking, cycling, driving and public transport.

On your ticket will be a colour coded route for example: “Red Route – Cusack Stand”, please follow the directions and signpost of your designated route to avoid any delays. A stadium map can be found here
 

There is limited parking available in City Centre Car Parks and O’Connell Schools. Clonliffe College parking will not be open to spectators this year.

Always be considerate of local residents when parking and do not park in residential areas. Be mindful that DSPS clamping, and the issuing of on-the-spot parking fines are in operation on streets around Croke Park during stadium events. 

Bike parking is available in three locations around the stadium: Davin car park and the Cusack car park. Do not leave bicycles or motorcycles in areas which may block or obstruct spectators or resident’s property.

Allow adequate time for entry procedures and familiarise yourself with your colour-coded entry route and entry times. This information will be on your ticket.

Please arrive at least one hour prior to the game. In order to facilitate entry, please have your tickets ready for scanning when you reach the top of the queue. Please be patient and follow the instructions of stewards and Gardaí.

To protect yourself and others, spectators aged 13 and over re encouraged to wear a face covering while in the stadium. You may only remove your face covering whilst eating and drinking. Please note that snoods and scarves are not considered as face masks as they do not provide suitable protection from transmitting the virus.

Yes, sanitiser is available throughout the stadium, however, all spectators are encouraged to bring their own with them and use it on a regular basis. There are also ample hand basins and soap dispensers in toilet areas.

Where possible, spectators are encouraged to practice social distancing.

We appreciate that you may need to pass other spectators in your row to get to or move from your seat. Please avoid face to face contact by turning your back to other spectators from different households, and ensure you wear your face covering when moving around the stadium. You should also wait until the gangway is clear and always follow directional and safety signage in the stadium.

2. If it isn't possible for you to leave the stadium and go home; inform the nearest steward who will direct you to a stadium Covid-19 isolation room.

Yes, food outlets will be open throughout the stadium. A queuing system will be in place at all units. To limit the gathering of groups of people, you are encouraged to purchase your items and return to your seat to consume your food and beverage as soon as possible. Please be aware that alcohol is not permitted in the seated area and must be consumed in the concourse area. A cashless payment system will be in operation with very restricted options for paying cash.

Yes, you may bring food and beverage into the stadium. Beverages must be sealed in 500ml plastic bottles or smaller, and reusable bottles must be empty on arrival (there are water fountains throughout the stadium to refill). The search policy and bag size will apply, for more information see our Matchday FAQ’s. Cans and alcohol are not permitted to be brought into the stadium.

You must consume your food in your allocated seat and please dispose of any rubbish in the appropriate bins provided or bring your rubbish home.

No, Croke Park is now a smoke free stadium. Previous designated smoking areas within the grounds have been removed. Please note if you leave the stadium there is no re-entry under any circumstances. 

Yes, match day programmes will be available for sale inside the turnstiles. Spectators should use cashless options to pay for programmes.

No, the Elvery’s retail shops will not be open on match days.

All seats are available for sale and as such there will not be social distancing in the seated area.

No – you must sit in your allocated seat for the duration of the event.

All spectators are encouraged to limit their movements where possible to minimise the risk of spreading the virus. Congregating or gathering in groups in the concourse areas is not permitted and spectators should remain seated in their allocated seats as much as possible.

No, for health and safety reasons re-entry is not permitted. Tickets which have been scanned once cannot be rescanned and will be declined is presented and entry refused.

Remember Croke Park Stadium is an outdoor venue. Please arrive prepared for inclement weather as the stadium roof may provide limited cover where you are seated. Spectators are encouraged to plan for the weather expected and dress accordingly. Seat swaps will not be able to be facilitated on the day. Please note umbrellas are not permitted.

Croke Park has been accredited the SGS accreditation which ensures the highest standards of cleanliness throughout the stadium. The stadium will also use the latest cleaning technology “Eco Mist” to sanitise the stadium. 

Yes, all staff must wear face coverings. Only those who cannot wear them for medical reasons are exempt. There are exemptions for players and match officials.

No, to minimise movement, you must stay in your seat at the end of the game or depart the stadium. Remember also that access to the pitch is strictly prohibited at all times except for designated personnel, pitch invasions are strictly prohibited. 

As with any match day Croke Park will continue to monitor the weather and other factors that may affect the game with stadium & GAA match officials and the Gardaí. If anything changes, we will alert ticket holders as soon as possible. Please note, to allow for effective contact tracing and due to demand, seat swaps will not be able to be facilitated on the day.

​What should I wear/bring with me? 

• Croke Park Stadium is an outdoor venue. Please arrive prepared for inclement weather as the stadium roof may provide limited cover where you are seated. Spectators are encouraged to plan for the weather expected and dress accordingly. 
• Layer your clothing on the day so you have options; start with a base layer, add another for warmth, and a third to protect from rain/wind. You can also shed or add layers as needed.
• Pack a rain poncho. Ponchos will cover you as well as your bag/accessories. 
• For your comfort and safety, bring more than 1 face covering with you if heavy rain is expected.
• Please note, umbrellas are not permitted in the stadium for the courtest and safety of all spectators.
