British Institute of Facilitates Management Ireland Region awarded Croke Park the FM Project of the Year for their Sustainability Initiative in the 2013 Recognition Awards.

These prestigious awards are designed to celebrate excellence and recognise outstanding achievements, projects and those teams and individuals who have made a significant contribution to the development of the FM industry in Ireland, and in particular workplace services within the industry including catering, security, cleaning, maintenance, energy, IT or health & safety.

With a record number of entries across all categories, the independent judges made up by a panel of industry and academic experts from across the UK and Ireland, were overwhelmed with the standard of entries received.

Croke Park Re-cycling Initiative received FM Project of the year, the Judges were impressed with the innovation behind the project and said, “The background of this project was well-explained, the project was innovative and the concept as a whole is excellent. There is a very obvious contribution to the community within this project.”

Stephen Welch, Chairman of the BIFM Ireland Region Committee said: “Congratulations to all our winners, and thank you to all of our entrants and judges. 2013 was a great year for FM excellence, innovation and inspiration in Ireland. These awards provide the ideal opportunity to recognise and reward the outstanding work and individuals which enable our industry to grow and thrive.”

Gareth Tancred, CEO, BIFM added, “I was delighted to co-present the 2013 awards. These awards play a vital role in increasing industry standards, within what is a fast developing profession in Ireland.”

Within the UK and Ireland, facilities management is still one of the fastest growing professions. Recent reports are extremely encouraging, highlighting that the sector has massive potential to grow and develop. Therefore, it is vital that as an industry individuals and organisations put in place clear and strategic plans that will help the sector flourish in the years to come.
