Croke Park Stadium has won the Green Tourism & Leisure Award Dublin 2013. This is the second Green Award for the Stadium, having received the Green SME Award in 2011.

"Croke Park are delighted to have been awarded the Green Tourism & Leisure Award and shortlisted in the Overall Green Award for 2013. The Award recognises the Stadium’s commitment to improving our Environmental & Sustainability performance and building on the investments that have been made since 2008 in making Croke Park Greener. On and off the pitch”.  Tracy Bunyan, Sustainability Manager, Croke Park.

The awards ceremony took place in the Burlington Hotel, Dublin on Thursday 18th April. Now in their fifth year, the Green Awards have become an established part of the business calendar. They are given to companies, organisations and individuals for substantial efforts in tackling climate change through innovative sustainable initiatives.

Speaking at the awards, the Minister for Environment, Community & Local Government Phil Hogan said:  “All of the nominees for this evening’s awards are to be commended for making environmental protection and sustainability central to their activities.  Concern for the environment must go hand in hand with activities across all sectors.  This evening’s nominees, both public sector and private sector, have shown that this is possible, and have demonstrated commitment and innovation in their efforts to protect and improve our environment.  They set a great example.”
